The EPA has released the Part 1 Toxicity Study Regulation - which banned the production and use of many asbestos-containing products in May 2024.  A preliminary Part 2 Study has been published, and due to be finalized by the end of the year - likely with regulations to coincide with the findings.  ***  My opinion on EPA's data - they are using extrapolated data to develop findings and shape new regulations - seems more political than pragmatic.  ​


Arkansas E&E - DEQ News

The Asbestos Section in Arkansas has gone online with NOI submittal, License Application and Accreditation Application submittal.  The portal is call SEEK, and can be accessed through the Department of Energy and Environment, Division of Environmental Quality Website.  Everything, including payment, can be submittal for all asbestos certifications and licensing.  There are a few steps to register and set up your electronic signature, but once that's done - you are ready to go!

Federal EPA News

EPA recently passed the Recordkeeping Regulation for Asbestos for all manufacturing, importing and distribution facilities.  The regulation requires facilities to report quantities, location, disposal and employee information for 2019 - 2022 between February and May of 2024.
