EPA LOWERS LEAD DUST STANDARDS
Arkansas Department of Health Lead Standards reflect change.

On June 21, 2019, the EPA published new guidelines for Lead Dust Levels in Child Occupied Facilities and Target Housing under TSCA Section 403.  These new levels have been expected since HUD lowered their Lead Dust Levels in 2017.  The new levels adopted by the EPA are as follows:

Floors:   Lowered From 40 to 10 micrograms per square foot
Window Sills: Lowered From 250 to 100 micrograms per square foot

These new levels will become effective 180 days from the date of publication (December 2019).  Click the link below to go directly to the EPA page with information on this final rule.

Arkansas Department of Health Standards have been updated to reflect this change as of September 2021.
